DURBAN: A foil seal that works on a dry capsule bottle can fail on a sauce bottle where product splashes the neck before capping. Bottle Sealers, which supplies induction cap sealing systems from Jacobs in Durban, has set out its sealing applications by product type so packers can see which sealer and liner suits their line before they order.
From bench units to inline sealers
The range runs from the Bench Sealer 500 for small batches and product testing, through the Bench Sealer 1000 and a portable kit for trials, to a tabletop conveyor sealer and the Inline Sealer 1500 for continuous production. Applications listed include pharmaceutical bottles, nutraceutical packs, spice jars, sauce bottles, powder containers, cosmetic jars, cleaning products and agrochemical bottles.
Fit the liner to the neck
“Nine times out of ten a bad seal is a liner and cap mismatch, not a faulty machine,” said the company’s commissioning technician. “We look at the neck finish, the cap torque and the product first, then set the sealer. That is what saves a packer from a pallet of leakers.”
Bottle Sealers also handles site installation, line commissioning, seal validation, operator training, preventive maintenance and spares for food, pharmaceutical and chemical packers across KwaZulu-Natal and nationwide.
