ATE Superhind MkIV – A South African company’s upgrade of the classic Mi-24. Upgrades include new ‘glass’ cockpits, a 20mm cannon and the ability to carry advanced anti-tank missiles such as the Denel Dynamics Ingwe.
One of the SuperHind variants is known to be in service with the Algerian Air Force.
This particular aircraft, ZU-BOI, made an appearance in the movie Blood Diamond during the scene in which the mercenary force attacks the diamond fields.
