Pretoria on MyPR: Johannesburg Acting Chief Of Police Grants Special Award To Scientology Volunteers For Saving Lives During Pandemic:

Acting Chief of Police handing presenting the special award to the Scientology Volunteer Ministers

This week, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Chief Ms. Angie Mokasi presented the Scientology Volunteer Ministers with a prestigious award for the tireless work they have done throughout the pandemic to make sure that all JMPD officers were safe on the frontlines.

They have worked closely with the JMPD by sanitizing their buildings and cars, weekly when not daily throughout all levels of the lockdown to ensure outmost safety. They do this for absolutely no charge for JMPD and millions more across the country to save lives.
The ceremony, held at JMPD headquarters began with Ms. Mokasi thanking the organization for their dedicated assistance over the last two years and said, “You have been with us since the very beginning. We have depended on you and in sometimes desperate times have called on you for assistance. You were always there, ready and willing. We as the JMPD would not be where we are if it were not for your tireless assistance throughout the pandemic.”

Following the Covid-19 lockdown, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers volunteered their services to sanitize all JMPD buildings and vehicles amongst thousands of others who also requested their assistance.
Almost 2 years later, they are still at it to ensure that police officers are kept safe.
Following the commencement of the ceremony, the Police Chief and her staff presented a once in a life time special award to show appreciation to the volunteers for the tireless and life-saving work during the pandemic. The volunteers were presented with a standard issue pair of JMPD boots, with the JMPD logo impressed in them, bronzed and mounted at attention next to a plate that reads:

“Awarded to
“L. Ron Hubbard and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers

“You have sought neither honor, nor glory, but have earned it through your courageous efforts.
“Throughout 2020 and 2021, you have been the boots on the ground marching beside us and you were with us in our darkest hour, during the 2021 unrest, working to rebuild the nation. You have not wavered in your goal to assist the people of Joburg and the officers working on the frontline and in so doing, have saved countless lives.

“Let these boots be a symbol of our gratitude for your dedicated service and our continued partnership.
“We thank you.

“Acting Chief of Police, Ms. Angie Mokasi
“Johannesburg Metro Police Department”

The boots represent honor, dedication and trust and were specially made for the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.
According to Mandy Pelser, representative of the Scientology Volunteer Minister, it has always been part of their duty to take care of the frontline workers because they are more at risk. The journey has been challenging but they have endured and will continue to do so until the job is done.

“I am brought to tears by what JMPD has done for us today, this is definitely motivating for us and gives us the strength to carry on. The pandemic has definitely taken its toll on the country but I am happy that we are playing our part in keeping our nation safe” added Mandy Pelser.
After the official awards ceremony, the Chief of police concluded the event by saying, “We will continue to work together! And I am looking forward to it.”

The local NPO has spent the last 615 days of lockdown on the frontlines helping with free decontamination, wellness educations and free skills development to the entire. To date, they claim to have also sanitized over 68,000 buildings across the country, from homeless shelters, clinics, hospitals, orphanages and many of whom are run by the department. They have also donated over 1.3 million hours.
The Scientology Volunteer Ministers affirmed that they continue to back up the city and the country throughout the pandemic.
