This was a project of the Community-Based Project of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology of the University of Pretoria. We did our project at the Ditsong Pioneers Museum. pioniersmuseum.co.za

June 2015. We worked as a group to improve and help the community that are not as fortunate or as well funded as they need to be to maintain the property. Work can sometimes be fun if you do it for the right reasons.

Personal comments:

MG Mundell: From doing this community work, I gained knowledge about the museum and its origins regarding the pioneers. I gained skills regarding painting and the use of drills etc.
Z Pelzer: I gained knowledge that the museum is financially struggling and this is due to the low levels of income as it is a government owned property. I gained gardening and team work skills.
CJ Swanepoel: I gained knowledge about the history of the museum. I gained skills from fixing the benches and i gained skills from the painting.
RC Uys: I gained knowledge from the lady at reception regarding the pioneers, the reason for this museum. I gained skills regarding financial management and use of power tools.
J Engelbrecht: I gained knowledge about the Pioneer museum that it is there to show the military history of our country. I gained team work, finance management and painting skills.
