This was a project of the Community-Based Project of the Faculty Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology of the University of Pretoria.
For our project we made an inventory list of the Milk house at Sammy Marks Museum, next to Pretoria, South Africa (http://www.ditsong.org.za/sammymarks.htm)
The experience at the Ditsong Museum was fulfilling and it was interesting to learn Sammy Mark’s history. We were surprised by how the Ditsong institution maintains and takes care of their museums. We have learnt the importance of every single artefact in a museum, where the artifacts come from, also the funding of the institutions. We understand now the importance of regular inventory.
