The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) views yesterday’s results of the Ward 57 by-election (Die Hoewes, Lyttelton Manor, Lyttelton) in the Tshwane Metro as a positive and significant step in the right direction. The DA managed to muster only 270 more votes than the Freedom Front Plus.
44,38% of voters supported the Freedom Front Plus candidate, Wesley Jacobs, compared to 54,20% supporting the DA’s Jack Page.
The Freedom Front Plus still won two of the three polling stations – a clear sign of growing support.
In the 2021 local government elections, the Freedom Front Plus could only secure 16,11% of the votes in this Ward, but yesterday’s growth shows that the residents of Ward 57 have noticed Wesley and the party’s dedicated work, and rewarded it with their votes.
These results also prove that the Freedom Front Plus will play an important role in the coalition that is likely to be established in the Tshwane Metro at the end of 2026. It also shows that neither the DA nor any other party can govern on its own.
The Freedom Front Plus thanks Wesley, Grandi Theunissen, Greater Pretoria regional leader, and his team for their dedicated work and expresses its appreciation for Ward 57 residents’ growing support. This by-election is not the final destination, but a positive first step towards the local government elections later this year.
For Wesley, the results crown his efforts and although he did not win, he cannot wait to get back to work. He finds serving his people and helping to improve service delivery deeply rewarding.
Freedom Front Plus Historical Commemoration: The party supports the commemoration of significant Afrikaner historical events.
