The City of Tshwane wishes to inform residents of Zithobeni Heights, Sokhulumi C and Zithobeni Proper that water from one municipal tanker was tested on 16 October 2026. The tanker was kept out of service while awaiting the results and did not deliver water yesterday, 17 October, or today, 18 October 2026. The results confirmed harmful germs in the water, making it unsuitable for drinking.
The affected tanker remains out of service. It will be thoroughly cleaned, flushed and disinfected before being allowed to supply water again.
Customers must not drink water previously collected from the affected tanker or use it for cooking, brushing teeth or preparing baby feeds. If you still have water collected from this tanker, please discard it as a precaution.
The city is working to ensure that affected residents receive safe water. Further updates will be shared as soon as more information is available.
The city apologises for the inconvenience and concern this may cause and thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation.
