OMODA and JAECOO Record Strong Third-Quarter Growth in South Africa

24 October 2025 11:25 am

OMODA and JAECOO, the marques comprising the Brand O&J division, have posted impressive third-quarter sales results, demonstrating sustained momentum. September and year-to-date figures underscore the brand’s continued growth in South Africa’s automotive landscape.

Between July and September, Brand O&J sold 2,472 vehicles—a 26% increase over the second quarter and a remarkable 50% rise compared to Q1 2025.

The OMODA C5 led Q3 sales with 2,408 units, followed by the JAECOO J7 (557 units), the JAECOO J5 (303 units), and the OMODA C9 (204 units). The JAECOO J5 achieved strong results despite being on sale for only two months, with sales expected to climb further in the final quarter.

Cumulative year-to-date (YTD) sales highlight Brand O&J’s steady performance across the first three quarters, with 8,543 vehicles sold across both marques. The brands are on track to surpass the 11,000-unit milestone before the end of 2025. Growth is expected to accelerate as new models join the portfolio. Recent introductions, including the JAECOO J5, the OMODA C9 SHS, and JAECOO J7 SHS plug-in hybrids, have strengthened the lineup, while the upcoming OMODA C7 is set to bolster local appeal further.

September’s results offer the latest snapshot of buyer activity, with 1,201 units sold across both brands. Robust C5 sales and consistent performance across the range indicate rising demand and sustained market confidence heading into Q4.

“We’re encouraged by the strong momentum seen in the third quarter,” says Hans Greyling, General Manager of OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “The response from local drivers shows that design, technology, and value remain key priorities, and our expanding line-up continues to deliver on all three.”

Q3 trends point to continued growth through the final quarter of 2025. With stock levels shifting and year-end campaigns underway, OMODA and JAECOO are well-positioned to maintain their upward trajectory and respond to evolving buyer demand.
