Colour the Streets of Alex – The Alex 10K Is Back!

18 March 2026 8:38 pm

Adreach Impact Brand Solutions is thrilled to announce its continued support as one of the sponsors of the highly anticipated Alex 10K, set to take place on Saturday, 21 March 2026, at the Altrec Sports Complex in Alexandra Township, Johannesburg.

Launched in 2023 by the Run Alex Athletics Club, the Alex 10K has evolved from an ambitious community initiative into one of the most vibrant and impactful road races on the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) calendar. What began as the “Find Your Fit Run”, an 8km event at Alexandra Plaza designed to promote health, fitness, and prove that road races could thrive in Alexandra, quickly grew into a flagship 10K with a 5km option featuring junior prize categories.

The event’s dual mission remains at its core: funding grassroots operations for the Run Alex Athletics Club and supporting the Children of Alexandra Learning Initiative, particularly through proceeds directed to the Read Alex Project, a Saturday program transforming literacy and educational outcomes for local youth.

Adreach’s sponsorship has played a key role in the remarkable growth of the Alex 10K. Starting as the official Media Sponsor in 2023, when the inaugural event drew 800 participants, Adreach elevated its commitment in 2024 by becoming the Main Sponsor and rebranding the race as the Adreach Alex 10K, nearly doubling attendance to over 1,500 runners and spectators. The 2025 edition, relocated to the Altrec Sports Complex, saw numbers surge past 2,500 attendees, highlighted by impressive performances including a new men’s course record of 32:05 set by Keann Domingo and a women’s victory in 44:54 by Tshegofatso Vocho.

For 2026, organisers and Adreach predict another sold-out event exceeding 3,000 participants, further cementing its status as a premier platform that unites competitive running, youth education, community health, and township economic upliftment. Participants will once again “Explore Alex on Foot,” navigating a route that showcases Alexandra’s historic streets, places of worship, entertainment hubs, and sports facilities.

“We are incredibly excited to be one of the sponsors for the Alex 10K for another year,” said Zuza Mbatha, CEO of Adreach Impact Brand Solutions. “This event is more than a race, it’s a powerful force for positive change in Alexandra, blending sport, education, and community empowerment. From our early support as media sponsor to our ongoing support of the race, we’ve witnessed first-hand the remarkable growth and impact this partnership delivers. We are proud to invest in initiatives that uplift township youth, promote health and fitness, and create lasting legacies. We look forward to welcoming thousands of runners, families, and supporters on 21st March to make more unforgettable memories together.”
