PRETORIA – Gauteng police have arrested four suspects, aged between 27 and 35, following a business robbery at a petrol station in Pretoria North during the early hours of Thursday, 13 August 2026.
The suspects were apprehended during a follow-up operation in Soshanguve Extension 20 after police responded to reports of gunshots in the area.
Soshanguve police and private security officers recovered a white Ford Ranger allegedly used in the robbery, as well as an ATM, a drop safe, tools, stolen stock, and an undisclosed amount of money. A rifle reported stolen in Booysens in January 2024 was also recovered, together with ammunition. A white Suzuki allegedly linked to the Pretoria North robbery was also recovered.
It is alleged that the suspects robbed the petrol station and loaded the ATM and drop safe onto the Ford Ranger before fleeing the scene. Multiple shots were reportedly fired during the incident. No police officers or security personnel were injured.
The suspects are facing charges of business robbery, attempted murder, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen property.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon as investigations continue.
